Wiki Circumcision - OB/GYN coding

New to OB/GYN coding.

Routine circumcision V50.2
CPT 54150
My doc doesn't specify any devices, clamps etc.
Is this coding correct?

Also, do I bill this under the mother's name or is the newborn added as a patient.

Our doc dose them and we use code 54160 he cuts and sutures. But we do in the office after they are out of hosptial.

Circumcision

You must bill circumcision under the patient who recieved the procedure ... i.e. the baby.
In fact if you try to bill under mother's name I'm pretty sure you'll get an error message (the code only applies to males).

Add as a patient and need to bill the patient(baby) only.its is a male procedure!

Insurance rejection

You must bill unde the baby's name and baby's insurance if not it be rejected at insurance company, make sure mom gets him added before appointment
