Patient had a circumferential capsulotomy with replacement of non intact mammary implant . I am looking at codes 19370 with 19340. , another coder says 19330 with 19325, I disagree. Who may be right?, or are we both wromg ?thanks
It depends if this is post reconstruction (19340) or post augmentation (19325) of the breast. If the doctor is doing the capsulotomy for the approach it is not coded separately. If the doctor is doing the capsulotomy to make the new implant fit better the capsulotomy is coded in addition.
