Wiki Ckd, i12.9 vs i10?

I'm a bit confused. Per guidelines, I12.9 is before N18.XX, unless otherwise stated. So, if a physician puts in his notes, the patient has CKD, N18... and benign HTN I10, is that considered correct?

To code it as you have stated , the code will need to combine it and code it as I12.- plus the N18 code for the stage of CKD. To code I10 and N18, the provider will need to state the CKD is not due to the HTN
