Wiki Clarification of billing CPT code & units

1 of my physicians feels the 2013 CPT code, 95076, can be billed for more than 1 unit. I say no since this new code is for oral challenge testing up to 2 hours. I also advised her if the testing exceeds 2 hours, she needs to bill 95079 for each additional 60 minutes after the 1st 2 hours. Please confirm that if the oral challenge testing is up to 4 hours, the correct coding would be: 95076 X1 & 95079 X2. Thank you.

I have not billed out these codes but yes I would agree with your coding. The wording is very similar to the critical care codes. Look at 99291 and 99292 in the CPT book and you will see examples of how to bill out the units based on time. Hopefully that will help.
