Wiki Closed treatment/humerus fx

Hello fellow coders,

I have a Medicare patient with a closed proximal AND shaft fracture of the humerus. The MD is providing closed treatment w/o manipulation for both fractures. The shoulder in a sling for the prox humerus and brace for the shaft fracture. Could both 24500 and 23600 be reported separately?

Per NCCI edit if a single cast, strapping or splint treats multiple fractures only one CPT may be reported. In this case again we have a sling for the shoulder and a brace for the arm.

Anyone come across this senario?

I have not seen this before, but trust your own answer. There is no edit between these codes. The fractures are being treated separately, meaning not the same cast, strap and so on. So both are billable.
