How is the E & M code affected if at all by a CNP(Certified Nurse Practitioner) being the provider?

As long as the CNP is contracted with the health plan(s), the CNP is able to perform services within the scope of his/her license. However, the reimbursement is usually lower because the services were not performed by an MD/DO. We have two nurse practioners in our office. They bill all E/M codes except for consults (request is for the opinion and advice from our MDs).
