We just hired a Psychiatric Nurse Practioner and am wondering what codes to use for outpatient services in an office setting? The practice that he just left only did Medicaid billing and he used H0031 for the assessment and 90862 for the medication management. Would I continue to use the same codes or are there different codes because he is billing through actual insurance now - medical mutual, medicare, aetna etc. Any help would be much appreciated. The H0031 code is for Medicaid billing only. For commercial payers and Medicare you would use codes from the Psychiatry section of the CPT book.
