Hi,

I have a unique situation.......

A Physician (whom I work for) did a co-surgery with another physician and our PA also assisted.

Can I bill out for the PA also with the AS modifier?

Both physicians will be billing out with -62 modifiers:
63047
22830
22852
20937

Can I bill these also with the AS since our PA actually assisted?

Thanks a lot!

Eric

Generally, only 1 "co/assist" is allowed. We come across this situation often, and unfortunately, the assit can only bill for charges that there was only 1 other physician on. So if your doctor and the other doctor are both billing all the charges you listed with mod 62, the assist would not be allowed any.
