I have a compliance question regarding a co-surgery where a neurosurgeon and ENT are working together. ENT opens for neurosurgeon and neurosurgeon does procedure. Neurosurgeon documentation supports CPT code as to cervical level surgery performed and ENT does not document specific levels, only cervical where incision made. Argument is ENT documentation does not support CPT code.
