Can any one clarify what we have to code for coagulopathy due to coumadin or warfarin ?

Many years ago the AMA published a piece regarding this and stated that being on an anticoagulant cannot give the patient the condition of coagulopathy. If the patient is experiencing abnormal blood work due to the anticoagulant then it is either a poisoning or an adverse reaction.
