Hello,

Does any one know if the doctor is performing CPT 30140 "Submucous resection inferior turbinate's". What is HCPCS code for billing the Coblation radiofrequency wand for this procedure? We have been billing A4649 "Surgical Supply Miscellaneous" because we can't seem to find a HCPCS code for the radiofrequency. Thank you in advance!

Is this being performed in the office? You cannot bill out the hand piece in addition to the code for the service, 30802. 30802 pays $208.31 (Medicare non-geographic adjustment) when performed in a facility and the facility is supplying the hand piece as part of the facility fees if is reimbursed. If the procedure is performed in the office, the fee is $292.40. The difference in those two fees ($84.09) is to pay for the costs the office incurs in delivering the procedure in the office including the hand piece.
