Currently, I'm doing billing and coding for an anesthesiology group. I passed my certification exam in February of this year. My goal is to do outpatient coding. Can I still get the A removed off of my credentials even though I'm doing doctor and not outpatient coding?

yes...

hai!

you can be out off "A" from your credential if you have hands on experience in medical coding for 2 year or more.
All you need to scan and submit your medical coding experience "certificate/ Letter" to AAPC.:)

I was worried that since I'm essentially doing CPC coding and not COC coding that my A could not be removed because of that. So I guess the whole point is as long as your working as a coder using the ICD-9/10, CPT, HCPCS and in anesthesia case also ASA codes and modifiers that your A can be removed.

Thanks for your help and quick response.
