We keep getting denials from Anthem for the coccyx injection (CPT 20605). They continually use laterality for the reason for the denial. We have appealed with procedure notes, and they uphold the denial until we do an escalation. I have a feeling the denials are being done by AI without being manually reviewed. Has anyone else been having this issue and/or found a way to handle it?
