When coding a benign carcinoid tumor of the bronchus/lung, one gets code 209.61. This code is considered an unaccepatable principal diagnosis for Medicare and the 209 codes also say "code first any associated multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome," however, the physician did not specifiy any of these symdromes. How do you code/sequence 209.61 when no associated syndrome is documented? Thanks.
