Wiki Code 25440 versus 25999 for scaphoid malunion surgery without graft or prosthetic device?

Surgery for treatment of left scaphoid nonunion; hx of closed comminuted fracture of scaphoid with nonunion. Surgeon documented dorsal radial incision. Opened the capsule and identified the scaphoid - deformity but no cartilage defects/ An 18mm micro AcuTrak was placed with excellent fixation. A dorsal K-wire was placed.

My question is- code 25440 reads "Repair of nonunion, scaphoid carpal (Navicular) bone, with or without styloidectomy (includes obtaining graft and necessary fixation)." There WAS no graft placed.

Can code 25440 be applied, or would it be 25999?
