Coding for the VA. CPT code 97762 I was informed by an VA auditor to use for hearing aid fitting and use 98960 which is for the hearing aid training for use orientation. I have been using the V codes in HCPS 2014 (hearing aid services) which our more specific to the documentation. In the VHA guidelines they consider 97762 a device code. The description in CPT for 97762 checkout for orthrotic/prosthetic use, est pt every 15 min. No time documented in the chart.
