Hi AAPC members,
Can anyone advise on billing for L8680, implantable neurostimulator electrode each. Do we charge by 1 code for the electrode or if it has 8 leads, do we charge 8 codes or 16 leads for 2 electrodes, 16 codes?

Good morning Joann,

When billing for this code, you would bill L8680 x number of leads. Each lead on the electrode is a unit. For example, an octrode lead would be L8680 with 8 units. A quad lead would have 4 electrodes (so 4 units) each. Infinity has 16 leads so 16 units for each lead inserted.
