OK, patient comes in with chronic constipation. Dr. has to physically disembowel the patient's rectum. Is this part of the office visit or is there a seperate code for that? Just does not happen that often you know. Thanks for your input.
 
remember to follow the 1995 or 1997 guidelines, you have a good chance to upcode from say a 99212 to a 99213.
