Does anyone know if there are any statistics out there showing accuracy of a coder vs non coding. For instance we have some clients that either the physician or the office manager does the coding and then we just do the billing.
I don't know of any statistics, but just pull and audit for accuracy. If you can show that compliance, charge capture or revenue are negatively impacted by whom they have doing the coding, there's your case for having a certified coder in the mix.
