We billed patient for 82550 with 2 units and 82553 with 2 units. We are getting denied stating the max units is 3 when billed together (From Humana Gold). Does anyone have any insight on this that can help me?
 
No mods

Our coders are not appending any modifiers to either of these charges. Would a modifier -91 be appropriate if they are not repeating the exact same test but running these at the same time?
