I need someone's opinion on how to coding a second colonoscopy due to postprocedural bleeding from the screening colonoscopy performed the day before. The patient called CIGNA and was told that it should be coded as a continuation of the screening. The screening colonoscopy was complete. I coded the second colonoscopy as control of bleeding with GI bleed. The doctor is a gastroenterologist, not a surgeon, we do not bill global. I do not think I can change the coding. Please advise.

Yes bill the K92 dx since ongoing problem and Z12.11 as 2nd dx. Do not change the billing but might use modifier 51 since repeated
