I have an existing issue where a patient was admitted to the hospital for 4 months of her care and then delivered a viable fetus. Question is: Can I bill a global and bill the inpatient visits or should I bill the global and add a 52 modifier on it and then bill all the inpatient visits.

thanks for any input..this is an ongoing issue in my practice.

I believe that if it is related to the pregnancy you cannot bill. If admit was outside the global period then you can bill .
