I never coded carcinoma before is there some good basic material I could obtain ?

Yes. Coding diagnoses has its own guidelines. Do an Internet search for "ICD-9-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting," and the document will give you the fundamentals. You will have to do a search for carcinoma, but will be well worth it.
