Wiki Coding Experience

Hello. I am course developer for a medical coding course for an online school, but I have not worked as a medical coder at any facilities. I was a front office receptionist for an orthopedist for a year back in 2000. I have extensive knowledge in ICD-9, HCPCS, and CPT. I received my CPC certification in September 2010. If I wanted to become an actual medical coder, will this count as experience even though I have not worked as a coder?

Thank you
