I code for hospital based radiologist and have a question regarding the Conscious Sedation add on code when more than 15 minutes are provided, 99153. I understand Medicare will not pay for this code in a facility setting, but is anyone coding to other insurances or do you just code the 99152? Many times when the Radiologist is doing a procedure or multiple biopsies it may take longer than 15 minutes, so are they only able to bill the 99152?
