Hello! I have one of our social workers that is helping a patient who is a Below knee amputee get a stair lift. She is trying to get a prior authorization done for this. Do any of you know what the HCPCS code would be for this? Thank you in advance for your help!

Who is your payer for this patient? Medicare and most commercial insurance plans won't cover stair lifts under a general exclusion regarding home modifications and a stair lift not meeting the definition of DME. If you are trying to get this covered for the member via the patient's state's Medicaid plan you need to find out what the requirements are for that specific Medicaid plan.
