We did a nephrectomy for a large renal tumor that extended into the liver. As a result, part of the liver had to be resected in order to remove the entire tumor. Is there a separate appropriate ICD-10 code that I can use for the hepatectomy, since the diagnosis is renal mass and not actually a tumor of the liver? It seems there should be a code that describes tumor involvement of a secondary organ (not a secondary malignancy or metastasis) but I haven't been able to find one. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
