I have a coding question. Clinically this may be a bad example and a patient may never receive two pushes like this. Its just hypothetical for the coding question.

Patient received an IVP of MS Contin at 13:54, then received an IVP of Roxanol at 15:18.

Would this be coded with 96374 and 96375 OR 96374 and 96376

Coding guidelines state we must specify substance or drug.

Since these are both morphine with different brand names are they considered the same substance/drug when coding?

Or since the brand names are different are they considered different substance/drugs for coding purposes?

Thank you.
