I have a question regarding OA after knee replacement. The provider documented OA of bilateral knees and said that the patient had a right total knee replacement. I would code this as OA of left knee and presence of right artificial knee joint but with that being said, I don't actually see an excludes note in the code book on coding OA on the same knee with an artificial joint. I want to make sure I am coding this correctly.
