I understand there are new codes out there that physician's offices can use for the time we spend talking to patients on the phone and working on their referrals, pa's, ect. even though the patient isn't in the office. Two doctors in our area have hired a company to track this for them. We are trying to do it ourselves. However, I'm a newly certified coder and don't want to make a mistake. Are the correct codes 99339 and 99340? Also, I believe I need to track the time (actual clock time) not just minutes spent. Is that correct?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
