what do you code for the removal of tissue (products of conception) using just forceps by the Emergency
Dept. provider while doing a pelvic exam only?
Procedure: Fetal tissue removal
Universal Protocol: Time out was performed. Patient, side, site and procedure was verified.
The Patient was prepped and Cervix visualized with products of conceptionin the cervical Os. The
products were grasped with ring forceps and gently removed from the cervical os. Minimal bleeding
post removal. Patient's pain improved post procedure.
