Scenario: Patient who within the last 90 minutes underwent extensive incision of thrombosed external hemorrhoids along with the excision of some thrombosed external hemorrhoids. He is now profoundly hypertensive and is having significant rectal bleeding. He was brought back to the operating room. Rectal retractor was placed. A large amount of blood clot was suctioned out of his rectum. THere was a single small arterial pumper at the edge of the mucose that was cauterized. Rectum irrigated copiously. No packing was placed. No anesthesia was used as the patient is still anesthetized from first surgery.
What procedure code and modifier would you use for this. Used CPT # 46250 for the initial procedure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
