Wiki coding help?

When a patient comes if for a follow-up to pharyngitis,otitis media,pneumonia,sprain etc.If they no longer have this problem how are you suppose to diagnosis the visit? They come back in for follow-ups to make sure they are better now. You can't really code for the original dx if they no longer have the problem. Doctor in notes says problem is resolved. Could you use "history of"? Thank you

I would code History of, example pt had pneumonia and comes in, and it is resolved, I would use code V12.61 history of pneumonia.

I would use the V67 code for follow up following completed meds, or the V code for follow up for healing fracture. Some of the History codes are not allowed as first listed codes so check the guidelines.
