I need help coding exploratory laparotomy..primary repair of colo-colonic anastamosis & small bowel segment with diverting loop ileostomy

If your surgeon did not do a bowel resection you cannot bill 44140. More information might be helpful. Look at 44602 and 44604 for repair. Ileostomy would be 44310. You may use these together with a 59 modifier. If resection was involved, then the answer before would be correct.
