I,m alittle confused on coding hypotension on an In pt that has renal failure and is dialyzing every 2-3 days (hemo dialysis). I,m not sure if i should be using 458.21 (hypotension of hemo dialysis)on every visit either f/u or dialysis or if I Should use it only on the dialysis charge and then use the dx 458.9 (hypotension unspec)on the f/u visit, it just seems like i should use only one hypotension code rather than switching back and forth. thanks in advance for any help CA
