Wiki Coding mammograms

hI

I am trying to code a screening mammo via U/S because the pt is mentally challenged

I coded the screening (V76.19) and the mentally chall, but the pt is MCR and it is FMN

ANy ideas?

So they did not do a mammo but just an US? Explain this more please and thanks!

Unfortunatly Medicare will likely not pay for this exam as CMS only classifies 76645 for diagnostic purposes. See the attached link. It explains that it is "generally not an effective tool for rountine screenings". They also have a better link which I of course can not find right now, but as soon as I do I will post it for you.
