Hi,

Patient with age - 19 days, Weight - unknown.

Can CPT 43830 (Gastrostomy, open; without construction of gastric tube (eg, Stamm procedure) (separate procedure) be appended with Modifier 63 (PROCEDURE PERFORMED ON INFANTS LESS THAN 4 KG) for this case?

Or CPT 43831 (Gastrostomy, open; neonatal, for feeding) is appropriate for the same?

Or both are appropriate ways of coding?
