These respiratory services codes (G0237 and G0238) are timed codes. Can education time be included in these when specifically documented and how about "warm up" time and "cool down" time when the patient is doing pulmonary rehab type exercises. Does anyone have specific examples of the difference in the two codes. Specifically provide examples of the different exercises for each. I believe the organization I work for uses "breathing exercises" such as incentive spirometry, pursed lip breathing, and arm weights, and leg exercises for G0237. Then for G0238 they are using time spent on arm ergometer machine, Nu-step machine, treadmill, elliptical, and chair rise. If anyone has expertise in coding of pulmonary rehab and respiratory services like these, can you please help me out! Would this be correct? Any additional detail would be helpful. Thank you!!!
