We have a psych Dr that comes into our office to see patients. Our nurses take the vitals and after the pt sees the psych Dr, our providers write out the needed prescriptions. With the vitals and appropriate dx code with this justify the use of E/M 99211?

We bill for the psych visit under the psych doctors name. The psych doctor can't write the scripts so our nurse will do vitals and our provider writes any necessary scripts. Will the nurse and provider encounter constitute a 99211 visit?

Why can't psychiatrist write Rx?

Psychiatrists are MDs ... most certainly can write scripts. I don't understand your scenario.
