Hello, we are a medical billing company in Las Vegas, Nevada. Can anyone give me an idea on the average rates for inpatient and outpatient coding? We were told that $1 per record for outpatient and $20 per record for inpatient. What do you charge for coding?

Also, We were wondering about the charge for contracting / credentialing. Currently we charge an hourly rate but someone suggested that we charge a "per contract rate" of $200-$300 per contract. Any other suggestions?

Any responses or feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. :)
 
A company that I worked for in past would pay $5 a chart for amb surgery coding or same day surgery coding and $6 a chart (because of the complexity) for cardiac caths, cardiac interventions and interventional radiology coding.
