Here is my question:

If I take the certification test before 10/2015, The questions will still be using the ICD-9. I was told that I need the 2015 copies of the CPT and HCPCS books. Now, if the ICD-10 is not yet enforced, then wouldn't you think that the CPT and HCPCS codes would not have changed?
So, do I really need the 2015 versions of the CPT and HCPCS books to take the certification test before 10/2015?

CPT and HCPC II were both updated for 2015 effective January 1. Due to the freeze imposed on ICD-9 and ICD-10 CM code set effective OCt 1, 2011, there have been no new codes or changes to ICD-9 since that time. As of OCT 1, 2015 you will need a 2016 ICD-10 CM book effective Oct1, 2015.
