When you come across a malignancy code that instructs you to code the additional diagnosis like alcohol use or tobacco dependence but the patient doesn't have any of those what do you do? Just code the malignancy and nothing else?

Thanks,

You are to code those conditions of they are present or documented. If they do not exist for your payient then you will not need to identify those conditions.
