Hey everyone,

I am a bit confused when it comes to coding some thyroid conditions.

An example: A note says "female with hypothyroidism secondary to Hashimoto's thyroiditis"
Our providers use some program that codes for them and we verify it, of course :D

He has this down

E06.3 for the Hashimotos
and
E03.9 for hypothyroidism

Obviously we want to code to the highest specificity as possible so I was thinking E03.8 is more appropriate and would be the only dx?

Or is there a better code or are there 2 codes required for this?
