how do you usually bill colon donuts 88304 or 88305 , when not done for tumor ??

The January 2008 issue of CAP Today recommends bundling donuts with the main specimen, whether the colon was taken for tumor or not. Their thinking is that the donuts are being seperately submitted due to a change in surgical procedure, not for individual interest.

Previous thinking was 88305 for colon resection for tumor and 88304 for colon resection other than for tumor.
