Dr. performed a right colon resection he took down the right colon along with the lateral attachements all the way up to the hepatic flexure.
The small bowel and colon were pulled up through our incision and decided on a point of resection of the small bowel.
This is just part of the report. My question is I have 44204 for the colon resection ;can I also code 44202 for the resection of the small bowel

Hi,

In our practice the most common is the 44205. They will say that they removed the terminal ileum and that is all they remove on the small bowel. If they do not say I always check the path report.
