Looking for some additional guidance on coding the primary diagnosis for the following:
Patient had a colonoscopy (Preventative Screening) 5 years ago, Liver Transplant Physician would like patient to have an additional screening due to Post Liver Transplant and the medications. The medications can compromise the immune system with a higher risk of cancer, therefore requesting colonoscopy.
We are conflicting in our office - some believe the Z12.11 would be primary with the Z94.4 as secondary and others have the Z94.4 as prime. Patient is presenting no signs or symptoms.
