I have a patient who presents with a prescription question. The package of BC pills looks exactly the same but the label was different, possibly a typo.

How would you code the DX and would you use a office visit code for this case?

Thank you for any input!

Oddly enough, yes they came in to see a health practitioner regarding their prescription label.

If the visit only took 5 minutes to determine the problem, I probably would make it a freebie. If they took 15 or 20 minutes to explain the situation, then it is either a counseling visit or a very low level E/M depending on the documentation. The dx code would be
V25.01.

They must have alot of time on their hands lol, well I would have to see the dictated note to see. If there was a history exam and mdm then you could bill a E&M and then maybe
V70.8 or V65.49 for the dx.
