I have never seen such a case this, patient is middle-60's female, has a completely duplicated collecting system on the left side. Based on the op report, one ureter appears to go to the lower pole and the other ureter to the upper pole. Here's where it gets interesting.... Both ureters had stents placed, after retrograde pyelograms were performed. Is there even a way to bill both of these since the laterality would be the same? The op report clearly indicates the whole procedure and that it was only done on the left side. That rules out modifier 50. I can't imagine two units being accepted. I want to bill it correctly. I came up with 52332-LT, 52005-59-LT. Has anyone ever had this? How did you bill it?

Thank you!!
