I work in behaviorl health and have several providers that are using the complexity code 90785 with every sessions. Are there rules or restrictions to psychologist or psychiatrist using this code repeatedly?? TIA
If they meet criteria, then no. Those would be things like, is there an interpreter present? Are there others present that are complicating matters? Is this a child for which communication is done by other means than with an adult? There has to be a specific reason to use the code, it is not for complexity of the case, it is for complexity of communication.
