Good Morning,

We have a patient who is 57 years old, who's having pregnancy complications due to epilepsy.... Doc coded 649.40, but that's for a patient between the ages of 12-55....


Does anyone know of an appropriate code to use??

I am not sure what your payer policy is for this. Is she IVF V23.85? You will need to follow the 649.40 with additional code to identify the specific type of epilepsy (345.00-345.91) and if she is IVF then the V23.85.
